Manor

Mary Manor is beginning their 8th year of teaching English at South High.  They were elected to the MFT59 Executive Board halfway through the previous term, and is in their first term as 1st Vice President, responsible for communications.  Mary has been a building steward, sat on two contract bargaining teams, and is a member of the REACH caucus, a social justice educator caucus. Mary enjoys reading, kayaking, toppling the patriarchy, and creating anti-capitalist memes, as well as spending time with their partner, Corinth (also a teacher) and dog, Lenny.

Jill Jacobson

Jill Jacobson is entering her 24th year as a Social Studies Teacher at Roosevelt High School. She has been a steward in her building for the last 6 or 7 years. She has served on the executive board as an at large member for 2 terms and has been 2nd Vice president for 2 terms. She has participated in 3 contract bargaining teams and served on the Constitution and By Laws Committee, Grievance Committee, and PAR committee. She is currently a delegate to the MRLF and is a member of REACH, a social justice educator caucus. She is also a member of the local IWW. Her non union activities involve Coordinating the Legal Observer program of the Twin Cities branch of the National Lawyers Guild, gardening, camping and hanging out with her Elkhound and cat (Pepper and Dd)

Callahan

Greta Callahan is grateful to be teaching kindergarten for her ninth consecutive year. She has spent seven blissful years at Bethune Community School.  During her tenure at Bethune, she has been a finalist for Minnesota Teacher of the Year, won a Fox 9 Top Teacher of the Year award, has a well-renowned guest reader program, leads PD on integrating the arts, social emotional learning, play, and is an ENVoY demonstration teacher. Prior to her years with MPS, Greta spent two years at a charter school. Her adverse experience at the charter school continues to fuel her passion and work for our union and public schools everywhere. 
Greta was recently elected to the Executive Committee for Education Minnesota, is a Governing Board member, graduate of the Midwest Labor Leadership Initiative (MWLLI), and is currently serving her second consecutive term as Secretary of MFT. She continues to live and breathe anti-racism in her work and personal life, and humbly tries to be the leader our students and fellow workers deserve. 
As a single mother, she spends all of her free time with her beautiful son, Morris, and sweet Pug, Maisy. Greta is certain that Yoga and Sriracha are the answers to all of life‘s questions.

 I have been in the Mpls. District for 38 years.  I have been active in MFT/ESP for the last 10 years. I live in Brooklyn Center with my Sister.  I have a large group of friends and family.  I love to garden, camp, go on thrift store road trips, and meet new people. I also have a weird sense of humor.

Katrinka Zackery is beginning her 21st year as an ESP. She was elected to the MFT59 Executive Board  in 2018 as a Member at Large and, following a resignation, to the position of ESP Chapter Recording Secretary in October 2019. Katrinka has been a building steward, sat on two contract bargaining teams, and is a Members Rights Advocate. Katrinka enjoys traveling, spending time with her family; especially her granddaughter, cheering on the Minnesota Vikings, collecting refrigerator magnets and attending concerts, plays and comedy shows.

Jane Swatosh is in her 25th year of teaching and is currently at Whittier IB. She was elected to the MFT59 Executive Board halfway through the current term. Jane has been a building steward at multiple sites in the district and is a member of the REACH caucus, a social justice educator caucus.  Jane is committed to elevating the voice of elementary students, families, and educators.

I have taught in Minneapolis for 26 years.  I have worked as an ECSE classroom teacher (Bryn Mawr), Autism teacher (Cityview) and Speech Language Clinician (Bethune and ECSE).  I have been active with MFT most of my career.  Currently, I am a building steward, a member of the legislative committee, the COPE treasurer, a member of the executive board, a delegate to the Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation (MRLF) and a member of their COPE committee.  I like traveling, cooking and keeping backyard chickens.

Paul Hegre

Paul Hegre has been a union member since 1994 and was elected to the MFT59 Executive Board last year. Paul‘s initial involvement with union work involved two AFT conferences, a TURN Conference and an EDMN conference. In the last ten years he has been involved in a variety of Labor Management Groups including: Alternative Teacher Professional Pay (ATPPS), Teacher Evaluation, Peer Assistance and Review (PAR), and the Q Comp Governance Committee. This career long love for supporting the teaching profession led him to run for the board as a member of the Joy & Justice group.  In his spare time, he is a closet WWF (words not wrestling)  player and a Crosstown Community Band trombonist.

Maureen Dowling is going into her 11th year as a Spanish and ELL teacher at Roosevelt High School.  She is currently serving her first term as an At-large member of the MFT Executive Board. In addition to her participation on the Board, Maureen has been a building steward at RHS for many years, and also took part in the 2018-19 bargaining team.  Maureen is a new mom who is enjoying her first year of motherhood.  In her precious free time, she loves to hit up local farmer’s markets, try new recipes, spend time outdoors, and go to movies at the Riverview.

Tequila laramee

Tequila is beginning her fourth year as an associate educator in kindergarten at Bethune Community School.

Tequila was elected onto the board in March 2019.  She has served as her building steward for two years, done summer organizing for two years, and is a part of the organizing committee and the full service community school committee.  Tequila has worked for Minneapolis Public Schools for eight years.  In her personal time she loves to relax, travel, try new adventures and spend time with family and friends.

Anne Wagemaker is in her fourth year at Lucy Craft Laney Elementary School. She is serving in her second year on the MFT Executive Board as an at-large member. Prior to joining the MFT Executive Board, she served as a building steward at Laney and for her previous site in the Chicago Public Schools. She is passionate about making the Minneapolis Public Schools the best schools to learn in and to work in. For fun she loves to read, run, and spend quality time with her friends and family.
